Hola Mexico!

I went on my first international trip - to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - and had a blast! I saw the ocean for the first time. It lulled me to sleep the first day, freaked me out the second day when its waves crashed on me, and I was at peace with it the third day when I realized that's where whales live (like in my current favorite book "Riggledy Jiggledy Joggledy Jam". I call whales "mm" because that's the sound they make.) I hated the feeling of sand on my feet at first but eventually warmed up to it. I enjoyed practicing walking on this unusual surface and digging little bits of it with my shovel. The pool water was too cold for me, but I didn't mind hanging out in the hot tub. I got to experiment with all sorts of food too... I totally got into octopus empanada! I'd tolerate black beans and tortilla until my favorite food bread appeared, in which case I'd throw down what I was working on at the time to get it. I still dig out any avocado product that is put in my mouth.

My favorite part of the trip was the hotel room, which was full of so many treasures to explore! I especially liked playing peekaboo with the sheer drape.

My Mom kept taking me into the pool, but I preferred to have my feet practice walking on the ground than kicking in the water. No matter where I am, I'm always content when sitting on Mommy's lap.

We stayed outside of Puerto Vallerta in a town called Mismaloya. We went shopping for my milk on this street.
We were actually in town for a wedding. Notice how Daddy's yamaka is the same color as my hat!
