My first Thanksgiving

My parents hosted my first Thanksgiving at our house. I went to sleep in the middle, but I heard everyone enjoyed the meal.

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Daddy took a day off and took my Mommy out to lunch at Chateau Souverain winery in Sonoma for her birthday. My present to her was that I was a complete angel at the restaurant and sat in the high chair the entire time enjoying the bread.

See more pictures we took from the camera phone here.

I like to eat

Now that I understand the concept of food, I'm a pretty good eater - especially if it is something tasty. My current favorites are rice porridge with chicken, Cheerios, toast and bagels. Check out my 4 teeth, plus the 5th one popping out on top!

Who me - scream?

I have been experimenting with my voice lately. The latest sound that I figured out how to make is an ear piercing shriek. I sure get a lot of attention with it!

No pictures, please!

I go cruising

I'm more confident in my standing so I like to cruise around the furniture and pull things down.

My Uncle and Auntie visit

My Uncle Wayne and Auntie Linda came out to visit us from Washington D.C. He gave me all sorts of thrilling rides: airplane, upside down, and leg lifts. Since he is much older than my Mommy, he remembers giving similar rides to her when she was a baby!

I'm there in spirit in the picture on the right. I am sleeping while the grownups have dinner. It is way past my bedtime!

I like disorder

This week I discovered a new fun game called Pull Things Out. I'm helping Daddy rearrange his sock drawer here.

I'm 10 months old!

I've gotten bigger! After I didn't gain weight between 6 and 9 months, my Mommy has been stuffing my face every chance she gets. I've gained about a pound and a half in just one month. (This is generally the type of weight gain that occurs with 0-3 month old babies!) All the tests they made me take showed that I was healthy and fine - just genetically petite. I am now 14 pounds, 10 ounces and am 27 inches long... still below the charts, but gaining steadily back up.

There are three major things I enjoy right now. First, I imitate people: I clapped my hands for the first time today, when I was playing "siu pung yau" with Pawpaw (Mommy's Mommy)! I like practicing waving and opening & closing my hands too. Second, I've learned to associate things: I "grrr" like a bear everytime we read my current favorite book "Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?"; and I understand naptime now and have stopped protesting as much. Sometimes I stun my Mom by going down without a peep. Finally, I am having a communication breakthrough! I wave my hand around to tell my Mom that I don't want something (like food), and she gets it!! Finally! I appreciate this so much that I'm trying to call my Mom by her name, but I wind up pursing my lips up and saying "mamamamama"... I'm almost there though!

Here comes trouble

The entire house has become my play area to explore! Here's a tour of the house:

On the left is my bedroom where I have most of my toys, run away from Mommy while she's changing my diaper, nurse and sleep.

On the right is the rumpus room where my parents say I can play by myself safely. But I never like to be left alone so I don't play much here.

My favorite spot is to be in the kitchen with Mommy. I like to open drawers and throw all the contents on the floor.
I like to climb up all the stairs, but haven't figured out how to go down quite yet.
