Is it because of free cake?

I sang Happy Birthday at a birthday party for the first time today! Up to this point, when people started singing, I always wanted to hide far away with my parents, or started crying. Today not only did I watch the festivities, but I actually sang! My parents' jaws dropped in amazement! Birthday parties are not so bad after all.
