A day in the life of my Mommy

My Mommy’s blog usually has stuff that I don’t care about, but I found this post about me in there today. I guess I am making her quite exhausted, but in the end, she still loves me so much!

Here are some cute pictures of me that she had. I always like to feed myself. So what if I'm eating the wrong end of the spoon?

I like to imitate Mommy and Daddy by playing Laptop. Eating it was my improvisation.

I miss my Daddy

...and I think he misses me too. He went to Korea and Japan for business so he's not here this weekend to play with me like he usually is. This is the second time he hasn't spent a weekend with me. He is showing his "oya-baka" side: he recorded a footage of me on the Izzy-cam! You can see it too by clicking the following link IrAug18_1028.asf. I'm playing with my current favorite toy - the Leapfrog Activity Table (lights and music ... good)

Also, I wanted to impress Pawpaw (Mommy's Mommy) who is staying with us while Daddy is away, so I climbed my first stair at home today!

My first cruise

I am enjoying this vertical business! I pulled myself up to standing using the toy box, and "cruised" over to the ottoman where My Precious (i.e. paper) was waiting for me to grab it. I crumbled down when I reached for the paper, but a-Ma (Daddy's Mommy) was there to catch me. Here's a picture of me doing my favorite morning activity - crawling to the end of Mommy & Daddy's bed, pulling myself up, and playing with everything on the table next to it!

We go oyster shucking

This excursion is always fun because the grownups look so happy eating a ton of oysters on such a beautiful day. Our friends brought their dogs, so I loved watching all three of them. I even sat on the dog named Ben until he walked away to play in the water.

Later that weekend, we go to dinner at a restaurant with friends - something I don't do often because I am usually asleep!

Pull-ups are fun!

I visit my Daddy's work

I don't get to see my Daddy much during the weekday because he works long hours and commutes far away. But today Mommy & I got to visit him at his workplace because they had a family picnic! What a treat!

People looked really happy talking about the "IPO". I wonder if this is a new food that I'll get to try?

I can seat myself

Crawling is great because I can look for my Mommy when she leaves my sight. Sometimes I crawl up to a toy, and get up on my knees to play with it, but I get tired sitting like this. Today I figured out how to tuck my leg under me and sit up from all fours! Yay - I can get to and play with any toy I want now ... until my Mommy pulls it out of my mouth.

I appreciate peek-a-boo

I'm learning about object permanence. Do you know that people and things still exist even if you can't see them? It makes me laugh. My new favorite game is Find Mommy's Glasses Under the Blanket and Eat Them.

I pull myself to standing

My crib is so boring that I figured out how to stand so I could tell my Mommy to get me out of this boring wooden cage!

I self serve

...one of the advantages of learning to crawl!

I stand supported

I am just FLYING through all of the major developmental milestones. I can't believe how much I've progressed in the last month. Here I am standing supported, having reached My Precious (i.e. paper)!

Welcome to my world

I am much more social these days, so I'm having all sorts of fun. Here's me at Gymboree, enjoying Parachute Time. It's neat when the parachute billows up around me; I also get so entranced by the bubbles in the air. I especially enjoy meeting the other babies.

Here's Christopher from our Mommy's group. I always try to eat his toys. We're the same age and he is so much bigger than me! But I run circles around him because he doesn't move yet! On the right here is my boyfriend Matthew and I getting sucked in by the TV!

I pull myself up on my knees!

I love being vertical and bouncing around on the bed! I can get up on my knees no problem. I try to pull myself to standing using my Mommy as I prop. Sometimes I make it although I'm always at a 45 degree angle so I crumble back down quickly.

Back in Mommy's womb?

The swimming pool was so great! It's like being in Mommy's womb again, albeit not as warm and cozy.

Today I try papaya

I'm ready for my next culinary adventure!

...don't worry. I have this expression with all of the foods I try. I liked papaya though. I had several teaspoons! I'm starting to enjoy this solid food thing! I especially like rice cereal now. It's that Asian blood in me!

Ooh, gravity...

When I drop my doll, my Mommy always picks it up and gives it back to me! What a great game! I like to play it over and over again.

I like to eat her hat.

I bear weight on my legs

I like to bounce up & down whenever I'm vertical, but today I actually stood still for a couple of minutes while supported! I then went back to my usual bouncing game.

I love being able to crawl!

I can crawl! All that middle of the night practicing in my crib paid off! Now that I figured it out, I resumed my old sleep pattern of sleeping 7-10 hours straight before waking up to eat, much to my Mommy's happiness. I love being able to go wherever I want to explore whatever piques my curiosity - which is practically everything! I like to crawl over to touch the other babies I've been meeting and play with their toys! Here's me playing with Elan. I don't move as fast as him, but I had so much fun!

Mommy & Daddy buy a new house

They say it's just for me so that I have lots of room to play in. Here is Daddy & I waving to Mommy standing in my future yard where I can go "wheeeeee!!" They went picture crazy if you want to see more of the house! We'll be able to move in by October.

I'm 7 months old now

...and still a long and skinny baby. I'm about an ounce shy of 14 pounds, and 26 inches long.
