Merry Christmas!

My first Christmas was all sorts of fun. I loved how pretty it was at night when we turned on the Christmas tree lights. For whatever reason the mistletoe always made me laugh. I also enjoyed playing with and eating all my new toys, books and clothes. I especially like all the ones that make noise. My parents gave me this little keyboard which I love. Here's me swaying side to side and doing my Stevie Wonder imitation.

A lot of uncles and aunties came to visit later for dinner so it was very festive! See more pictures from Christmas here.

Christmas shopping date in San Francisco

Here's us on our family's annual Christmas shopping date in San Francisco. I absolutely loved seeing all the lights and people hustling about. I don't want to be biased, but I was a total angel all day, having recovered from a nasty cold the last couple of days.

Welcome to Isabella Park

Here's my Dad and me enjoying the new Isabella Park that just opened in the back of my house. There are a couple of new Japanese maples, dogwood and lemon trees planted so we get to grow up together.

Breakthrough weekend with my Dad

Here's me at my first Christmas party at my Daddy's work. We were both so happy to be able to play together on a weekday afternoon. My Dad thinks I had quite a breakthrough weekend because I crawled to him for the first time without him prompting me. I also started saying "Dada". I really love playing with Fun Daddy... I even crawled two flights of stairs for the first time looking for him to play with me!

Sleeping through the night

I'm generally a pretty good sleeper, but I like to wake up around 4 to 5 am (after 8-10 hours of sleep) to nurse before returning to sleep. Then one morning instead of getting my Mommy with her nice soft bosom, my Daddy came in with a plastic sippy cup of milk. I've decided it's not worth waking up for that, so now, I've been sleeping from 7 to 7 - 12 hours solid at night!

I'm practicing those steps

I like to stand and take little steps using furniture or people as support. I still crawl much faster than I cruise, but at this altitude, I reach a lot more fun stuff to pull down and chew on. By the way, can you believe that I'm eleven months old today?

I am still petite

I had my 10 month appointment today - 3 days before I will be 11 months old. (Don't ask me to explain - I just show up for these things!) I weighed in at 14 pounds & 11 ounces, 27 1/4 inches tall and 16 5/8 head circumference. I am growing steadily everywhere except weight, where I only gained an ounce in 1 month. Since I am completely below the chart, my Mom has received the mandate to "fatten me up." So here I am opening my mouth really wide as my Mom serves me jook, one of my favorite foods. I am generally healthy and these days I clap my hands when I'm happy.
